Gather Well’s Ownership Model

Jan 14, 2023 | Blog, News

Our ownership model, a nonprofit that owns a taxable subsidiary, protects the purpose of the organization in perpetuity while allowing us to navigate the changing policy landscape in a responsive way.

We lead with our values and the wisdom inherent in psychedelics by engaging in creative options of ownership and governance. Our stewardship-ownership model allows us to remain vision-driven in perpetuity rather than being primarily responsive to profit margins. This model includes a nonprofit entity, Gather Well Psychedelics, for education, research, and other charitable purposes, and a taxable wholly-owned subsidiary of the nonprofit, which will engage with the psychedelic materials.

All activities of Gather Well Psychedelics and its subsidiary will be in full compliance with the laws of the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions in which we operate. Gather Well Psychedelics, a 501(c)(3), does not engage in activities directly involving psychotropic substances.

Gather Well Psychedelics is a nonprofit organization whose activities will include education, research, and other charitable purposes.

The subsidiary is a taxable corporation wholly-owned by Gather Well Psychedelics. It will provide therapeutic treatment and administer psychotropic substances only in accordance with the laws of the jurisdictions in which it is operating.
